On a Mission for Montclair

Published Mar 15, 2013

A group of local ministers joined Commissioner Lumon May and members of the local group “Parents Against Injustice and Negligence” (PAIN) in the Montclair neighborhood on Friday, February 15 to promote community togetherness and awareness.

The event, held at Westmark Park on Massachusetts Avenue, drew a crowd eager to listen to a simple message: It’s up to them to take back their neighborhood. Following speeches by several local ministers, as well as Commissioner May and mothers who had lost their children to violent crime, the group walked along Erress Boulevard, cleaning up trash along the street and talking with residents about their concerns.
