Turn Lane Construction Begins on Scenic Highway

FDOT crews will shift traffic and begin widening of Scenic Highway (State Road 10A) to prepare for for the addition of a northbound left-turn lane on the road at the intersection of Blithewood Avenue in Escambia County beginning Sunday, March 10. Workers will also resurface the existing roadway, improve drainage, modify selected driveways, as well as place new signs and pavement markings.  The project is scheduled for completion summer 2013.

Construction activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather. Motorists are reminded to watch for traffic flaggers, pay attention to the speed limit when traveling through the construction area, and to use caution when driving in work zones.
