Row Crops Irrigation Management

Escambia County Extension, Alabama Cooperative Extension and the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Science (UF/IFAS) will present a Row Crops Irrigation Management class from 8:30 a.m. to noon, on Thursday, February 21, at the Walnut Hill Community Center, (Ruritan), 7850 Highway 97, Walnut Hill. The topics will include an overview of the irrigation scheduleing options availabe for peanut and cotton, methods to increase the efficiency of irrigation and the most sensitive groth stages in peanut and cotton to drought stress, installing subsurface drip and corn irrigation scheduling and methods to measure soil moisture. Lunch is sponsored by Helton Irrigation, pre-regisdtration is reguired for attendance.
