UPDATE: Flooding Warning Extended Along Escambia River Through Feb. 19

The National Weather Service in Mobile has extended the flood warning for portions of Escambia River near the Town of Century through Tuesday, February 19. At 3 p.m. Thursday, February 14, the stage is at 17.7 feet. Flood stage for the Escambia River is at 17 feet. The river is expected to continue to rise to approximately 18.2 feet by Friday.

The forecast currently calls for minor flooding in low lying areas and pastures along the river. No residential or transportation infrastructure impacts are expected at this time.

Residents and property owners should closely monitor weather conditions and are encouraged to sign up to follow Escambia County’s Emergency Management Twitter feed, @bereadyescambia for the latest information.
