Traffic Advisory: Florida Department of Transportation Updates

The Florida Department of Transportation has announced the following construction projects:

  • Crews from Bridge Masters LLC began a bridge expansion joint replacement project this week in Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa counties.  Motorists can expect intermittent lane restrictions on the following dates and locations:

    • Okaloosa County

      • Sunday Dec. 16 and Monday, Dec. 17 - Garnier Landing over I-10 (Bridge #570038)

  • Construction activities on State Road 291 (Davis Street) from Wright Street to Hart Drive are underway in Pensacola. The 2.3-mile project includes resurfacing the roadway, minor drainage improvements, pedestrian and bicycle feature improvements and placement of new signs and pavement markings. Motorists can expect daytime restrictions. The $1.2 million transportation improvement project is expected to be complete spring 2013.

Drivers are reminded to pay attention to the speed limits and use caution when driving through the work zone.
