FDOT to Hold Public Meeting on replacement of West Sunset Avenue Bridge over Bayou Grande

Published Dec 10, 2012

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a public information meeting regarding the proposed bridge replacement for County Road (C.R.) 292A (West Sunset Avenue) over Bayou Grande in Escambia County on Thursday, December 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Warrington Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 406 South Navy Boulevard, Pensacola. The meeting will follow an open house format. Representatives from FDOT will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.

The project is currently in the design phase and plans are in development to replace the existing bridge with a two-lane structure, add bike lanes and 5-foot sidewalks between Syrcle Drive and Chattman Street. No additional right-of-way will be needed to build the one-quarter mile long project. During construction, the road will be closed and traffic diverted. The department will receive bids for construction in spring 2015.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status. Persons who require special accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act, or persons who require translation services (free of charge) should contact Sandra Lamb, P.E., toll-free at (850) 638-2288 at least seven days prior to the meeting.
