Take a Bite out of Hunger

Published Nov 1, 2012

Join Escambia County Extension along with University of Florida Institute of Food & Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) and the Florida Peanut Producer Association to help take a bite out of hunger by participating in a local peanut butter drive.

Drop off unopened jars of peanut butter to your local Escambia County Extension office, 3740 Stefani Road, now through November 16. All peanut butter collected will be donated to a local food pantry during Farm-City Week.

The average child will eat 1,500 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches before he or she graduates high school. Let’s keep children eating locally grown peanuts in healthy, nutritious and yummy peanut butter.

Other drop-off locations include:

Escambia County Farm Bureau

153 Highway 97, Molino

Escambia County Government Complex

221 Palafox Place, 4th Floor, Pensacola.
