The Escambia County Equestrian Center will host an equipment rodeo, sponsored by National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) of Northwest Florida this Saturday, October 27. This event will feature several competitions that test skills operating various pieces of machinery.
Competitions include using an excavator to scoop up basketballs and place them in a bucket, using a mini excavator to pick up a piece of pipe with a rope and ball and placing it on a cone, using a backhoe to pick up a rope with two tennis balls and placing them in a square and participating in a barrel race on a zero turn mower. Coastal Machinery donated all the equipment that will be used during the event.
The event begins at 11 a.m. and spectators are encouraged to come watch the fun and games. A $5 entry fee will be charged at the gate. For more information, call Paula Lieser at 434-8328.
