The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public hearing concerning the U.S. 90 Project Development & Environment Study from Scenic Highway in Escambia County to Glover Lane in Santa Rosa County Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. CST at the Santa Rosa County Auditorium, 4530 Spikes Way, Milton.

This hearing is being held to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic and environmental effects of the proposed project.  It is also being held to receive input on reclassification of U.S. 90 from west of Chuckle Highway/Floridatown Road to west of West Spencer Field Road from Access Class 6 to Access Class 5.

The intent of this project is to widen the roadway from a four to six lane divided roadway and make access management modifications.  Right of way acquisition will be required.  The project is currently not funded for design, right-of-way, nor construction in the FDOT Five Year Work Program.

The hearing will begin as an open house at 5:30 p.m., with a formal presentation at 6 p.m., followed by a public comment period.  Maps, drawings, and other information regarding the improvements will be on display.  FDOT representatives will be available to discuss proposed improvements, answer questions, and receive comments.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status.  Persons who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or persons who require translation services (free of charge) should contact Peggy Kelley, FDOT Project Manager, toll-free at (888) 638 0250, extension 1517 or via e-mail at peggy.kelley@dot.state.fl.us at least seven days prior to the hearing.
