Late Evening Accident on Perdido Key Drive (April 29, 2017)

Escambia County Fire Rescue and Emergency Medical Services are on the scene of an accident involving a single vehicle and eight pedestrians in the 14000 block of Perdido Key Drive, just west of the curve. The incident occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. Two victims were transported to Baptist Hospital and one to Sacred Heart Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Five other victims were transported to area hospitals, three with serious injuries.

The Escambia County Sheriff's Office has closed Perdido Key Drive near the scene. Drivers are asked to avoid the area. Traffic delays can be expected.
