Seafood Safety Symposium set for Feb. 11

The Escambia County Natural Resources Management Department and the Escambia County Marine Advisory Committee will host a Seafood Safety Symposium Monday, Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m., with topics to include seafood handling, consumption and harmful microorganisms. The event will take place in conjunction with the Marine Advisory Committee meeting on Feb. 11, in room 104 of the Escambia County Central Office Complex, located at 3363 West Park Place.  

The county has invited university and extension services to provide information and answer questions about seafood safety. 

At 5:30 p.m., subject matter experts will provide presentations on the following topics:  

  • Seafood in a Healthy Diet
  • Microbes and Biotoxins
  • Seafood Handling, Preparation & Serving
