Escambia County Hosting Black History Month Program Feb. 28

Escambia County will host a Black History Month program and celebration Thursday, Feb. 28, featuring performances from local youth, live entertainment, free food and more. The event will begin at 6 p.m. at the Brownsville Community Resource Center, located at 3200 W. De Soto St. 

This free community event will include music, dancing, poetry readings, skits and exhibits celebrating Black History Month. This year's theme is "A Tribute to Maya Angelou: An African-American Legend."
