Escambia County offers after school programs at Ebonwood/Oakcrest Community Center and the Brownsville Community Resource Center. The programs offer a variety of activities and educational resources to local youth, including arts and crafts, homework assistance, nutritional programs, team-building activities, sports and more.

Play, Learn, Grow

The Play, Learn, Grow After School Program provides youth grades K-12 the opportunity to participate in educational, cultural, sports, and community enrichment programs. Program provides homework assistance, tutoring, project based activities, and snacks; while following CDC, state and local guidelines. Virtual tutoring is available for individuals who wish to stay home. The program begins Tuesday, Sep. 8, 2020.

  • Homework assistance
  • Subject remediation
  • Project-based learning activities

Program details:
  • When: Mondays-Fridays, 2:30-5:30 p.m., begins Tuesday, Sept. 8
  • Where: Brownsville Community Resource Center, 3200 W. De Soto St. 
  • Cost: FREE
  • Registration: Open through the end of the school year, limited space available for low occupancy

The Youth Connection

The Youth Connection provides youth in K-8th grade the opportunity to participate in education, cultural, sports, and community enrichment programs; to build confidence and self-esteem; to encourage our youth to say "NO" to gangs, drugs, and violence; and "YES" to hope, learning and life. The program begins Monday, Nov. 1.

Activities include:

  • Academic enrichment  
  • Arts and crafts
  • Educational programs              
  • Drama and cultural activities                          
  • Team-building activities            
  • Leadership skills building   
  • Homework help and tutoring   
  • Sports, fitness & games
  • Nutritional programs
  • Guest speakers  
  • Supervised computer use

  • When: Mondays-Fridays, 1:30-5 p.m., begins Monday, Nov. 1
  • Where: Ebonwood Community Center, 3511 W. Scott St., Pensacola
  • Cost: FREE
  • Registration: Open through the end of the school year, limited space available for low occupancy
