Geographic Information Systems

GIS is responsible for the management and technical aspects relating to the county-wide enterprise GIS. The department also oversees the planning, management and completion of GIS projects and technical implementations, including the IMAGiNE multi-participant Geographic Information System in which the Escambia County Property Appraiser, city of Pensacola and Emerald Coast Utilities Authority are participants. The maps and field-collected data combined can be used to assist in the decision-making process for local government, developers, utilities and a wide variety of other agencies. The GIS office is also responsible for assigning addresses in the county.
