Camping Area
The Escambia County Equestrian Center has 75 electric camping sites that are part of our event facility. 35 are full hook-up, including 30/50 amp, water and sewer.
Campers must make a reservation by calling (850) 941-6042. Cash or check must be used to pay your invoice. Reservations are accepted for up to 14 nights, subject to availability. Upcoming contracted events have priority. The County reserves the right to reassign sites or vacate camping lots for special events, county operations, emergency operations, or reasons not noted above with 24-hour notice.
Horses are NOT permitted in the campground. Pets are allowed but must remain under owners control and on a leash.
A sanitary dump station is available on-site, free to person renting camp sites. Other users are subject to a $10 fee, payable by cash or check, at our office.
Layover / Overnight Stabling Requests
The Escambia County Equestrian Center is a popular overnight stabling stop and 'horse motel' in Pensacola / Northwest Florida along I-10. We are only 10-15 minutes from Interstate 10 exits 5 and 7. Several hotels, feed and hay stores, grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations are nearby.
You MUST make a reservation request - Contact our office at (850) 941-6042 or (850) 554-1155 At Lease 24 Hours in Advance, Monday through Friday, BEFORE 3 p.m. Cash or check must be used to pay your invoice. Stalls, Shavings, and Electric sites are subject to availability and contracted events have priority.
Compost
The Escambia County Equestrian Center has composted horse manure and shavings for personal use. Commercial use of our compost, and tractors and equipment to get the compost is not permitted.
There is no need to stop by our office. On the Equestrian Center Aerial View map below, the compost area is located in the far upper-left corner.
Inclement Weather and Emergency Evacuations
During storms and inclement weather, Escambia County Public Works will stage sand for storm prep throughout Escambia County for citizens to fill sandbags. At the Equestrian Center, this sand will be located in the grass field at our facility entrance. You need to bring your own sandbags and shovel. Sandbags can be purchased at most hardware stores.
The Escambia County Equestrian Center accepts equines and most types of livestock needed to evacuate as long as Escambia County and the Pensacola, Florida area remains Unaffected and is NOT in a mandatory evacuation zone. Please visit our emergency evacuation page for more information.
Please Note:
As an event facility, we do NOT have any horses that permanently stay at our facility.
We do NOT offer Rentals, Trail Rides, or Riding Lessons.
